The New Magical Express – Mears Connect

August 7, 2021

Earlier this year, it was announced by Disney that Magical Express would be discontinued at the end of 2021. Magical Express is the complimentary transportation from Orland National Airport direct to your Disney resort provided for resort guests. So many questions arose….How would guests get to their resorts now? Why did Disney keep taking away the magical extras you get when staying in the Disney bubble? Perhaps the the new Amtrak would provide transportation to Disney springs, but what about luggage on the busses from Disney springs to the resort? Why is Uber so expensive?!

Fret no more….the answer is here! Mears Connect has come to the rescue. Mears is the same bus company that ran the Magical (or tragical to some) Express for Disney.

Coming in January 2022, Mears Connect will replace the Magical Express. There will be two options – Standard and Premium.

Standard is a shared service on bus or van, making a limited number of stops on the way to your destination.

Premium is a direct service with limited to no wait time.

Introductory rates for the standard round trip service are $32 per adult and $27 per child. Premium rates are $200 for up to 4 passengers and $55 per additional passenger.

Mears Connect is available to book immediately, so if you have a trip in 2022, ask your travel agent about this affordable transportation option to get to your resort!

Edit July 2022:

I have had the chance to compare MEARS against some of it’s direct competition. Check out my article here to see how it stacks up!

I am a mom of 2 boys ages 11 and 14, and have been married to my wonderfully supportive husband, Brian for 14 years. I work full time in the billing department of a large opthamolgy practice in Michigan. I have not just a love for all things Disney that started from birth. My boys sometimes call it my Disney problem, but my husband and I fondly refer to it as my Disney passion. I have a side gig as a travel advisor. I can help plan almost any vacation, but as you can guess, I specialize in Disney and Universal.
