Spotlight on Hollywood Studios

🎥 Disney’s Hollywood Studios!🎥 – This park has recently undergone a transformation and features some of the newest attractions, but still holds the nostalgia and some of the attractions that opened with this park in 1989, once known as Disney MGM Studios. It has so much to offer!

This park can easily be a half day park, or you can take in everything, making it a full day event! Here’s some highlights on this park:

Galaxy’s Edge

Star Wars Fans, this is where you will find Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, a fully immersive land in which you can drive the Millennium Falcon or build your own droid or light saber. Rise of the Resistance is a one of a kind, cutting edge ride experience! And, opening on March 1st is the Star Wars Galactic Star Cruiser, a fully immersive resort experience that allows you to enter directly into Galaxy’s Edge.

Toy Story Land

Toy Story Land is located here! Besides Galaxy’s Edge, this is the newest area in the park. In this land you shrink down to the size of a toy and can ride Slinky Dog Dash, compete in a virtual shoot-out on Toy Story Mania, and go for a spin with the aliens. It also features Woody’s Lunchbox quick service dining location.

This quick service restaraunt is just adorable, set in the middle of Toy Story Land. I had heard of the famous “Totchos” but never got to try them. I was not going to pass up the opportunity again! These are the items we tried, but there are so many things on the menu that sound so yummy! The “Totchos” lived up to their name, and the lunchbox tart was perfect – just like a better version of a pop tart. They sometimes have seasonal tarts as well.I loved every single one of these food items and would definitely get them again!

Hollywood Boulevard

As you enter the park, you’ll find yourself on this iconic street, where the main feature is a replica of Grauman’s Chinese Theater, complete with the hands and footprints of the celebrities that have visited over the years.

In the newest attraction, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, you step into a cartoon and go on a fun adventure! Although controversial, due to the fact that it replaced the beloved Great Movie Ride, it is a real treat to ride! In my opinion, it is a great replacement for it’s predecessor.

Near Echo Lake, you will find the Frozen Sing Along, some great quick service spots, as well as one of my favorite table service dining location in this park, 50s Prime Time Cafe. Also, having just come back since covid, is the Indiana Jones Stunt Show.

On Grand Avenue, you’ll find the popular Sci Fi Diner. Enjoy a meal while sitting in a car and enjoying a movie at the “drive in.”

It also features the original Star Tours ride and Muppet Vision 3D, a fun and cute theater show.

Sunset Boulevard

The iconic Tower of Terror and Rock N’ Rollercoaster are still in operation for thrill seekers! This is where you’ll find them!

This park truly has something for everyone. You’ll also find a lot of Pixar and Disney Junior characters to say hello to in this Hollywood Studios. Hopefully this gives you a general idea of what this park has to offer, but there is so much more I didn’t even talk about!

What’s your favorite thing to do in Hollywood Studios?

I am a mom of 2 boys ages 11 and 14, and have been married to my wonderfully supportive husband, Brian for 14 years. I work full time in the billing department of a large opthamolgy practice in Michigan. I have not just a love for all things Disney that started from birth. My boys sometimes call it my Disney problem, but my husband and I fondly refer to it as my Disney passion. I have a side gig as a travel advisor. I can help plan almost any vacation, but as you can guess, I specialize in Disney and Universal.
