Todays the day! Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney’s California Adventure tickets went on sale today! You do all the preparation you can, come up with a strategy, pull your computer out at the right time, get in the queue to purchase tickets and….What’s that you say? Ticket sales are Paused?
That’s what so many people had happen today. All that excitement and anticipation and then….no tickets. Are they sold out? When will it start back up again? Did I even have a chance? Panic ensues.
Oogie Boogie Bash tickets are officially on sale! We hopped in the queue to get the tickets I needed. I was trying to get them for Halloween night. As if the stress of that isn’t enough. I waited. I looked. Ok, other agents are having trouble. After about 20 minutes, my screen updated. I’m in! Oh….no I’m not! Instead, Oogie Boogie informed me that ticket sales had been paused.
Oogie Boogie Bash is a popular event at Disney California Adventure, and tickets tend to sell out quickly. Magic Key Holders were able to purchase tickets early, and those have already sold out.
All of my research had suggested that the computer was better to use rather than the app. A fellow travel agent, however, posted that she just got tickets…she thinks. It told her the purchase is pending via the app and in email. So I try the app. At first, I keep getting the same thing as on the computer. Ticket sales are paused. But while my computer is still in the queue, I keep trying over and over in the app. Finally….SUCCESS!
I was able to get the tickets I needed AND help a fellow agent. It seems the key is to keep refreshing it through the app, rather than on the computer. Even as I sit here, only a handful of us agents have been successful, and I’m still refreshing over and over to help the others.
The question is why does this happen every time Disney has a release of anything? We may never know. It seems like eventually they would be able to get it together. The good news is, you can use a travel agent like me who will work tirelessly to get these things for you, so you don’t have to!
Update at 7:00 P.M. EST – This is the message now available when you try to purchase tickets.
